8-8-23 SCOOP
Save Cats & Obliterate OverPopulation, Inc. (scoop, Inc.)
SCOOP has used PayPal for donations, fundraising, etc. since it began in 2006. On July 30th at 11:30 p.m., all of SCOOP's funds were fraudulently transferred to a bank not used by SCOOP. No notification of this transaction was sent to us by PayPal. As soon as this fraud was discovered, we opened two cases with PayPal and both were shut down within hours. Today we filed a claim, but it seems doubtful that this fraud will be thoroughly investigated, or that we will receive a refund. When the fraud occurred, the laptop was at a local business that repair computers. We do not know yet if this business was involved in the fraudulent transaction.
This theft will have a very serious negative impact on SCOOP's mission of assisting the community and continuing to care for the special needs cats in our sanctuary. This could happen to any person or business that uses PayPal. The response from PayPal has not shown them to take robbery of a charity seriously.

8-15-23 Stevie - needs surgery
United Paws Rescue Inc is asking for donations. WE HAVE 5 DAYS TO FUNDRAISE FOR STEVIES SURGERY!!! As you know we have been closed for intake while we fundraise for Stevieās very expensive surgery. This is a very time sensitive surgery that canāt wait for very long as his salivary glands are affecting him so much that it makes it difficult for him to eat or close his mouth. The specialist willing to do his surgery has an opening on Friday (August 18th) to get Stevie out of discomfort and save his life. Without this surgery Stevie risks dying if the glands get too large again.
Thanks to everyoneās donating, we only have 3,200 dollars left to fundraise instead of the original 4000! That means we have FIVE days to raise 3200 dollars. PLEASE help Stevie, he is an extremely sweet boy who loves everyone he meets and he needs YOUR help! If our whole community pulls together and everyone donates just a little bit, we can make this happen for Stevie.

8-25-23 Cat food needed
Pittsburgh Hill District Cats: One of the issues in modern society is that it's common for seniors to live by themselves. We know many seniors who live isolated in their homes, watching TV all day without any companionship. It's a real problem. This stands in contrast to indigenous communities where people coexisted as a group, with seniors and infants sharing a single dwelling. If you were a senior and needed help with something, everyone knew about it. Barbara, the senior from Oakland, has reached out to us for assistance with cat food. It's important that we don't overlook her because she has no one else to rely on. She lives by herself with no cellphone or Internet. Her companions are her feral cats she feeds and she doesn't always have money to feed them. If you're able to send her cat food, she would be most grateful. Her cats will eat any type of dry food and they love friskies shreds.PM us for her address.

8-31-23 Snowball - needs dental badly
HE WAS CONSIDERED A HOSPICE CASE. THIS IS SNOWBALL 2 MONTHS LATERā¦He had everything working against him:ā¢Both FIV+ & FeLV+ ā¢Severe stomatitis and dental disease (needs full mouth extraction) ā¢Autoimmune disease ā¢Anemic ā¢Open wounds on his body ā¢Ulcers on his tongue
ā¢Upper Respiratory Infection ā¢Dehydrated ā¢Diarrhea ā¢Emaciated ā¢Not able to groom. Fur matted from constant drooling ā¢Probable Kidney Disease ā¢Too sick for dental surgery, probable hospice case
All of those things were told to us on his first vet visit. Some felt we were making him suffer and should ālet him go peacefully.ā The top photos are the day we pulled Snowball from our route. His owners abandoned him and never had to see the emotional and physical toll losing his family had on him. He had been missing several days and reappeared drastically thinner. We put him in the car without a carrier, funds or a foster. In 2 months: ā¢Gained 4.5lbs
ā¢All wounds healed ā¢ Red blood cell count is up by 10 leaving him just 3 away from ānormalā (without having a transfusion)
ā¢He looks like the cat we remembered before he was abandoned ā¢Heās well enough that he can have the first half of his dental surgery within the month Last night Dr. Jaax ran bloodwork and another combo test. There was only a faint line beginning on the side that tests for leukemia as opposed to the bold line that immediately popped up 2 months ago. We are cautiously optimistic (stressing cautious) that he may be a false positive or had leukemia and is clearing it. We are having an IFA test ran for more accurate results.
ā¼ļøā¼ļøā¼ļøā¼ļøā¼ļøšš¼Snowball is priceless but his care from all different foods to his meds, etc has been and will continue to be costly (at least until his dental work is over). Last night was $340 (IFA alone is $100). If you would like to forfeit an afternoon coffee or after work drink in Snowballās honor to help with his bills:
