12-3-21 Sasha - Cat with broken leg needing amputation
My ex boyfriend lost my cat it would be 2 years on December the 1st. I looked for her every where and I posted every where. I couldn't find her. I cried for months. well last night I came across a post that looked just like her. I went into the shelter today and when she took me back back there I started crying tears of joy and heartache because it was her nut she is injured. Her left leg is broken. I am on disability and on a fixed income so if anyone could please help me get her leg fixed I would be so thankful. I have missed her so much and I'm so glad I found her. Its no accident I found this post. They couldn't send any of her pain meds or anti inflammatory home with me so she has to go to the vet ASAP. She is at home with me now laying on the bed and seems very comfortable. The bone is broke completely in half. *UPDATE * Sasha took a turn for the worst. I don't know what's wrong. We are at the ER right now. All I have is rent money I haven't turned in yet. If anyone could please help and pray pray pray please and thank you. **UPDATE** She needs amputation right now, infection is settling in!

12-3-21 Roscoe - broken leg
Hello! My 10yr old Belgium Shepard mix Roscoe escaped his enclosure while I was at work yesterday and returned last night with a compound fracture in his front leg and will have to have surgery today to have metal plates put in. I've exhausted my care credit limit on the deposit tonight and have applied and been approved for $600 through scratch pay. He's currently being kept at Veterinary Specialists of Birmingham under the care of Dr. Brandt Tolbert so they can monitor him and control his pain. The rest of his deposit is due prior to surgery and the rest of the payment is due after his treatment has concluded.

12-6-21 Buddy - stomatitis
Hi, my name is Tammy and I care for a colony of about 15 community cats. I noticed one of the cats, Buddy, was drooling and would take a few bites of food and run away. With the help of SCOOP Inc.'s (Save Cats & Obliterate Overpopulation, Inc.) SIC program (Sick and Injured Cat program), I was able to get him seen by Dr. Jaax. Buddy has been diagnosed with stomatitis, an extremely painful mouth condition, and needs surgery. His surgery is scheduled for December 15th. The estimate for his surgery is from $596 to $671. Buddy and I would appreciate any help!

12-11-21 Cat colony in need of help
We are sorely in need of help feeding our colonies and rescues in East Orange. We feed over 100 daily, plus I have 13 rescues/fosters at my house right now. We’re feeding Friskies pate mostly turkey and chicken, Purina Combo. Also, Kirkland’s chicken and rice (Costco 25lb bag is &19.99 and it’s free of fillers like corn). Be part of our team to help these kitties as the weather gets colder. Any help greatly appreciated! It’s currently costing us over $1000 a month and we just can’t keep doing this on our own. PLEASE SHARE! I can PM you my address if you prefer to send food.

12-14-21 Billy - stray cat hit by car
I am wondering if you would be able to help our rescue with a cat that was hit by a car and ran over then and then it was left laying against a building in a shrub for 2 days before anybody reached out for help. We immediately stepped up to help it where we picked it up late last night and it was admitted into an emergency hospital where it has a broke fractured pelvis, hock, and a complete broke detached femur. We know that the estimated emergency care to stabilize him manage pain infection and then go to surgery and remove the leg is going to run around 1,300. We just saved a puppy that had been badly abused in the same area with significant neck damage and possibly some neurological damage we are already dealing with that to $2,000 bill. Bless you. Even the vet said that in spite of his horrific pain that Billy was not trying to bite that he growled a couple times when they had to lift him up to clean him from where he would urinate on himself. The doctor said that he has a strong will to live.

12-23-21 Red cat - stray cat with injured paw
There is an injured kitten I believe to be approximately 6 months old that has been coming around my backyard. He is limping badly and unable to go up stairs. I’ve been trying to find a way to get him an emergency appointment at a vet. I don’t know much about cats and am very allergic. I am told that these appointments are expensive and I fear I would be unable to pay much. I’m going to call different vets today. If there is a way I could get any assistance I would appreciate it. I’m very worried for him but don’t know what to do. I do not have a Facebook page or any social media. I’m not very good with a computer.

12-24-21 Maize - cat with injured leg
Hey, do you have people in the cat rescue community that might help me? My cat got injured today while playing. I don't have enough for treatment. I had to take uber to the vet! Maze basically almost got de-gloved on his back leg - you can see his tendons. I have pics and video on request, but it's a little gorey. He was originally treated at Metropolitan Veterinary Clinic. They quoted $900 - $1000 to stitch it up (it's not broken, not bleeding a lot) depending on type of sedation. I only had $200. Another cat-person donated $200 of the $500 they wanted to start stitching, I needed $100 more to start - but they wanted the FULL price tonight - since he can be treated in one visit. We couldn't find any more donations, so they gave him antibiotics, wrapped it, and sent him home until I get enough money. Do you have anything I can ask for some help to fundraise? Anything would be appreciated!!!

12-24-21 Eve - very sick stray cat found
A friend texted me this morning about a cat that was dumped on the border of Newark and EO. Is anyone able to assist and trap? Need a rescue as it looks like it might possibly need medical attention. It’s freezing outside and someone failed this poor baby. I was told it doesn’t run away when approached so might be an easy catch. Any help is appreciative! Edit: Will need a trap. Kitty does move away when people walk by. Update! I couldn't let this poor baby stay outside so I dropped what I was doing and went to get it. Sasha Lynn has taken it to VEG in Union. Either will try to save it or humanly euthanize if too sick. If we can treat her we will need funds as we have no money to take on this emergency! Will keep you updated as I know what's this kitty's Fate. Pawesome news! Update: Eve (she’s a girl) is off the street and at the emergency vet getting fluids and warmth therapy. Update on update! Eve's temp is too low to read, so are warming her up. Some fleas, a collar on!😡 no microchip. Body temp was too low to get a reading so that is top priority. We got it right, Eve is a lady! Dr is working on estimate, Eve needs fluids and warm therapy.😓she was about to freeze to death! Dr doesn't want to euthanize because she has a chance to survive! Will need a foster for Eve!!!! Dr is getting an estimate, will post once I get it! PLEASE donate and/OR SHARE!

12-28-21 45 dogs need s/n to find homes
Barking Mad Animal Rescue is asking for donations.
There are 60 dogs scheduled to go to adopters in Canada on January 29th. 45 of them will NOT get to go without their spay/neuters and vaccine packages. BMAR is so darn full right now…these dogs just HAVE to go to their waiting homes. So we took a calculated risk…and scheduled every single one of them at the DeHart Mobile Clinic on January 1st in Lufkin TX. Bare minimum for 45 dogs is $82 (includes rabies which they have to receive in order to have their surgery) and that amounts to $3690. Ideally, it is so much cheaper there to do the whole package which includes hw test, chip, full vaccines, spay/neuter and is $120 X 45 = $5400. This is daunting. I know you are watching our matching fundraiser and we were so hoping we could use that money to pay off vetting/food/supplies debt for the rescue and stop some of the daily stress. But as you can see, our hopes are now dashed because 45 dogs need to go to their forever homes. It truly is never ending, never a break. I will be posting some of the dogs for sponsors. I posted Buddy and he has a sponsor for $120….so 44 more to go. I simply won’t have time to post every single one of them. So this is a giant plea for vetting help. Just picking dogs off the street or snatching them out of euthanasia lines is not enough. They have to be vetted, they have to be adopted….otherwise, what are we doing? We can’t let them leave unaltered or we are no better than the scum that threw them away. DeHart will let you call them for direct donations AFTER all the surgery is completed. It’s a very small window and we simply have to know what is being donated so we can gather up the rest. With that in mind, we are asking for donations on this post or one of the ways that follows this post. If you can, PLEASE S*H*A*R*E for more help. These dogs are very deserving and they represent what every rescue is really supposed to do. Fix the dogs, find them homes.

12-28-21 Hoarder case
Friends of Feline Urban Rescue & Rehab is asking for donations. Elaine is one of our very dedicated and skilled trappers and fosters. Recently she became aware of a very bad outdoor hoarding situation in the Lehigh Valley. Working with people that have a hoarding disorder is extremely challenging. It requires patience and skills in addition to the skills needed to care for the cats. Over the last 5 weeks, Elaine has TNRed 30 cats, 11 cats have come into the rescue and unfortunately 4 cats were in such terrible medical condition, there was nothing we could do to save them and they had to be humanely euthanized, even though we tried our best to save them with the amazing work of our dedicated vets.Elaine believes there are about 20 more cats that she needs to capture and evaluate. This is just one FURR volunteer doing all of this work. So if you think about the work that all of our volunteers do collectively, it’s pretty amazing. The work never ends.
Please spread the word.

12-29-21 Marmelade need a dental ASAP
Hey guys look at marmalade's cute face! He is in need of an exam and sooner than later. Dental appointments are difficult to get at some of the veterinarians that we use. And some of them are booked out pretty far, he's got something going on with his mouth but he doesn't want me to look he wants to keep my fingers out of his mouth. But he's been having some issues with drooling and inflammation and we did get him a appointment at Ringtown Animal Hospital for Thursday at 11:00 a.m. What we need until then are people who are willing to make a donation towards his veterinarian bill. I don't know how much it's going to be, and cannot pay in advance as we do not have an account with them as of yet. As of Thursday at 11:00 a.m. when we sign in for the appointment we will have an account and donations can be accepted at the vet over the phone or by mail. But if we can get some commitment to donations to assist with his care that would be absolutely wonderful! And a great Christmas gift for him. Please and thank you
