2-4-19 LuLu a kitty that needs a painful eye removed
Hello, my name is Renee, and I have an 8 year old Persian, Lu Lu, that I got from my local shelter in 7/13. She has glaucoma, a degenerative condition, and she has already had one eye removed because of the condition--back in March of 2017. Last month, I learned from my local Vet, she needs the other eye removed (enuncleation), and the estimate was over $1300. I had taken her in because I knew she was in pain because she eats less, frequently does not use the litterbox, and isolates all of the time. She has glaucoma and a detached retina. She is on drops but this is very painful and needs the eye removed asap!
I found a Vet in San Marcos, CA that does enucleations for a lot less than my Vet. in Chula Vista. I have scheduled her for the surgery this Friday, Feb 8th at 8:00 am. 2-8-19 Taming Gracie Feral Cat Care needs supplies
Unfortunately, panleukopenia has swept through this shelter and they have lost a few kittens already. They need to replace everything, litter boxes, cat bowls, beds etc. to prevent the rest of the crew from getting it. 2-8-19 Lennox, abused and neglected dog
A Chance to Bloom Dog Rescue is asking for donations. Two weeks ago, we received an urgent rescue plea from BARC for sweet Lennox, a gorgeous 3 year old female pit bull with the saddest eyes. Lennox was in rough shape and had been through hell and back. We could not ignore her suffering, so we took Lennox into our program and immediately vetted her. Lennox was sedated to x-ray her leg and debride her wounds. The lacerations are about 2" deep in very clean, straight cuts across her chest, with rope burns around her neck. These wounds were not caused by a car accident or embedded collar. Lennox was likely tied with a rope and sliced with a long, heavy blade, like a machete. One bone in Lennox's front leg is also cleanly broken in one area from blunt impact, an injury consistent with being kicked very hard.The person who committed this heinous act is a sociopath. Cases of animal abuse are not tracked by state or federal agencies, unlike violent crimes against people. There are strong correlations between intentional cruelty to animals and violent crimes against people. As a community, we need to speak out and report any and all criminal activity against animals and put pressure on state & local government to crack down on cases of neglect and abuse. If you see something happen, report it immediately. This is the only way justice will ever be served.
Lennox has surgery scheduled to repair the break in her leg on February 21st. Our rescue has several major and minor medical cases at the moment and we still have balances at our vet we are paying down for other medical cases. We desperately need to raise funds for Lennox's surgery, heartworm treatment and continued medical care. 2-11-19 MJ - very sick dog
This poor baby has pancreatits and suspected obstruction and has been hospitalized for 8 days already. The owner has exhausted ALL funds including CareCredit to help her beloved dog recover. He needs a CAT scan ASAP to see what is going on. Mj is most likely going to have surgery after the ct scan. He has masses in his stomach, something causing an obstruction. He cannot pass anything through his stomach.

2-12-19 Oscar - found kitty in need of vet care
A young girl found this cat crying outside her house and took it in. She learned that her neighbor moved out and tossed kitty outside about a month ago. He is very skinny not having eaten in a long time!! In addition, he has goopy eyes and it appears as though he was in a cat fight and has a nasty injury to his tail and around his body. Her family cannot afford to take him to the vet but if we can help her, she will take him and then give him a home. We were able to get him a vet appointment for this afternoon to have his checked.

HOMELESS, ABUSED, MALIGNED, and now at animal control, Bonnie and Clyde are HEARTWORM POSITIVE and NEED YOUR HELP!We got calls about these two back last fall.... two "wild" dogs, running loose in Belleville, IL. They were terrified of people. Nobody could get close, but the people who viewed from afar saw scars and injuries. We started calling rescues and animal controls. They were out of every rescues' area. We tried so hard, but could not get them into rescue while they were loose. The animal control only had one trap, and they were difficult about lending it. The dogs were in danger of freezing right before that last freeze. They were also becoming increasingly desperate and killing raccoons in front of people. People were talking about shooting them. Thanks to some kind community members, we got two traps and a volunteer to trap the dogs. Once trapped, we had no choice but to send to animal control. We are not a rescue; rather, we offer spay/neuter help and funds for emergency medical care. At the animal control, Bonnie and Clyde have passed temperament testing by 100%. They are excellent with people and dogs. Who knows why, since their scars bear evidence of abuse. How have these two managed to stay so sweet and gentle? When they look up to you, you can see them daring to love. Sadly, Bonnie and Clyde both test positive for Heartworm. Had they remained loose in the woods and managed to avoid getting shot, they would have eventually died of heart problems. Now, to escape that fate and get them into rescue, we need to raise money for treatment. In their souls, they are ready for rescue and homes! They are longing for your love and longing to give love back. We just need to help the rescues who are strapped for money by raising funds for heartworm treatment, which is very expensive. Bonnie and Clyde can recover and go on to be adopted into loving homes. But they need treatment. Please will you help these lost souls who have been wandering in misery for so long? Thank you for helping these poor souls who have nobody else! They deserve to live out the rest of their lives in peace, loved and cherished!

2-15-19 Zelda - dog mauling
This poor dog was mauled by a pack of stray dogs in her own yard!! The extent of her damage was such that she may need to stay in the hospital for a while. If you're just seeing her story for the first time, this dog suffered terribly as she was mauled by a pack of dogs. She was inside her fence and was pulled through part way by the pack. We've raised about HALF of what she needs! Thank you to everyone contributing to this poor soul.The vet called today and is concerned her family may not be able to physically maintain Zelda's wound care and recommends she stay at least until Sunday as it takes several staff members to care for her each time. She will need at least 150.00 per day (meds and hospitalization/wound care) and we want to give her the best chance for success but sadly we haven't raised what she needed to cover surgery and 3 nights of hospitalization. We are still around $900.00 short for just that. 😔Please help us help Zelda get all she needs. This poor girl needs a village to get her healthy.Please share and do are if you can it's urgent.

2-16-19 Morris - kitty needing help
TriState Noah Project: MORRIS IS FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE AGAIN AND NEEDS YOUR HELP
3.5 yrs ago when I found Morris, now our Mascot, in the street nearly beaten to death the vet staff wanted to give up on him and put him down. 4 surgeries and 3 months later he made an incredible recovery. Here we are in a similar situation. Yesterday morning he was rushed to MedVet nearly unresponsive. Within 24 hours 2 different doctors recommended putting him down without further treatment based on his condition. All of his tests showed his organs are working. He is anemic and has lost significant weight (he was only 4lbs before). The blood work, ultra sound and x-rays showed nothing that would explain his weight loss. They don’t believe anything is wrong with his feeding tube. No answers but based on his appearance they wanted me to consider ending his life because they felt he is “lacking quality of life.” 2 days ago Morris was his normal self. He was still greeting me at the door, knocking utensils out of the kitchen sink and curling up in a ball around my neck. He was never a “normal” cat after the attack but is full of spunk and no one would ever know based on his appearance. Photo left is yesterday and he could barely hold his head up. Right is Morris tonight. To everyone’s surprise he made a significant turn around. I spent 2 hours with him and I see the same fight I saw years ago. Our rescue only posts a fraction of the cases we take on. This past week was very difficult on us, especially being all volunteer. We accrued $1700 in vet bills from strays and owner abandoned cases we recently took on. 2 of which were yesterday when the stray we pulled from the route that was attacked by a coyote had to have her tail amputated and a sick stray we picked up recently took a turn for the worse and after $350 of medical care and tests yesterday passed away last night. Morris is the reason this rescue exists. His bill is now up to $3300. I want to keep fighting for him but need your help. I was so discouraged last night I didn’t know if he would make it through the night. This little guy is such a fighter and I need to fight for him. (TriState Noah is a 501c3)

2-17-19 Zorro - stray cat with severely broken and infected leg
This is a cat that has been living in a colony at an assisted living facility in which someone is trying to TNR. He was found with his paw that looks like it is twisted 180 degrees and he tries to walk on the back of the paw very. It has been at least a month that he has been seen like this and now the leg is very infected. He was finally trapped last night and is being taken to a vet this morning. But the trapper has no money to help this kitty.

CAT FOOD DONATIONS NEEDED ASAP!!! I stopped at one of Florence Marie colonies today to drop off some food for them. They haven’t eaten in two days!!! Florence have no food for her colonies!!! Some of you remember the Truck-stop in Newark that I posted last summer, Eileen DiNicola was able to trap and neutered 3/4 cats there and trap about 9 kittens +2 someone else trapped. I found rescue for 9 of them stuck with two “ not mellow ones” my self. Well!!!! This is the most disgusting location I have seen (was worse!) There are kittens, young adults and many adults. by Fay DeAvignon, Natick,MA .....PLEASE HELP US! I am sharing this story with everyone because WE ARE REALLY DESPERATE AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!! Over a year ago, Leslie Rae, a fellow cat rescuer, was made aware of this hoarding situation and began working on finding rescues and forever homes for as many of these kitties as possible in the NC area. Of the 90, 40 of them had been kept in the garage the previous 4 years with no windows, heat/AC. It was horrendous. Cats huddled together, cat waste everywhere and the stench of urine throughout the house. Some of them would not let Leslie touch them at all. Though fed, some of them were malnourished. and several were terrorizing some of the shy ones. After finding places for most of them, she realized that she was running out of options for the remaining cats and decided to try up north. That’s how Leslie and I met. In December, we brought up 9 of them to wonderful rescues and homes in New England. We have potential for 14 more of them to come up here to the Boston area but now we find all but 2 of the remaining must have significant dental surgery because of tooth decay and multiple cysts on their gums, a very painful situation for the cats. The owner's home is now under foreclosure and the lady and remaining cats, must be out by the end of February. Because of their medical situation and urgency of placement, we are now having trouble getting commitments from rescues for those who have dental issues. We must help these rescues financially, which could be up to $6,000 total for the work to be done. THESE CATS’ LIVES ARE DEPENDING ON US. WE NEED DONATIONS TOWARD THESE SURGERIES SO THE RESCUES WILL BE ABLE TO TAKE THEM. Every one we have taken out of this situation has become so loving and friendly. They just want a forever home and this was not their fault...We have to make this work for them. PLEASE HELP US BY GIVING WHATEVER YOU CAN! 2-21-19 Nonnie - cat with a blocked bladder
I got a PM last night from a woman pleading for help. Her cat was only dripping blood and not able to urinate. No vet would see her without money upfront and being disabled, she had none. She lives in a semi-rural area of Oregon and couldn't even find a vet that would remain open to see her even if she did have the money. They all referred her to the 24 hour hospital who wanted hundreds of dollars just to walk in the door. The Dollar Club wanted to help but we only had $200 to spare and it wasn't enough. She had no where else to turn. After a few hours of trying to figure this out, she was able to locate a country doctor who would see her once he got home from treating a horse for another client. So, Nonnie was finally seen and she has a severe bladder infection. She was treated and sent home with antibiotics to clear it up. AND he only charged $69!!!!!

2-22-19 Spinner - horribly neglected dog
Camp Papillon: His name is Spinner, he was taken out of an untenable situation and brought to us, he is dehydrated with a temperature. The grandchildren went to visit their grandmother and found the dog this way and brought him to us to save. Those nails, those ribs...that crusted urine and feces IN BETWEEN Spinner’s nails!! The gals we love so much at Pocono Peak cannot even examine this poor boy without the shave. This poor little boy. Spinner appears to be blind at this time because of a severe eye infection... he also has a hole in his sinus, a severe heart murmur...and a hole in his chest. THANK YOU Dr Sammie Thompson and crew for staying to help Spinner!!! ❤️❤️❤️ work is continuing... IV’s and more. They are going to keep him overnight. ..... and see. SPINNER UPDATE!!! He made it through the night!!!! We were told last evening that may not happen! THANK YOU ALL for your donations and prayers! He still has a very long way to go. He is emaciated, dehydrated, and has roaring infections every where. But he made it! ❤️❤️❤️ he is also interested in eating!! IVs are running. Keep those prayers coming, Gang!! Will get updated pictures when the Vet office can snap them for us! Little boy is also constipated! Our little Spinner!! He is still critical but Dr Sammie thinks he will make it. Pocono Peak’s Head Nurse, Carol, is taking him home for the weekend to make sure he gets his 6 small meals a day and all the care he needs. He will be back in hospital on Monday. 2-26-19 Zuri - Kitten with several broken bones
Rescued from a shelter: Zuri – 1951897 – 8 months old – Female – 4lbs. Zuri is a super sweet girl that was HBC. She is in Need of Urgent Rescue due to her left hip being dislocated plus pelvic and rib fractures. **UPDATE** After a few days of letting the swelling subside, Dr. Miller was able to exam her thoroughly today. In addition to her hip and broken ribs, her pelvis has two fractures and her ankle is also is fractured. But thankfully she does have nerve function and all organs are all intact. She says she’s very lucky and doing well considering. Dr. Miller wants her to continue to rest so her pelvis can continue healing prior to her surgery to repair her hip, which has been scheduled for March 14. 2-27-19 - CyndiLauper Poor kitty needing many teeth removed
CCAS: Special Needs Cats ROCK is asking for donations. Our cat born with no back feet, had all but 4 teeth pulled today. She had already lost many and some had reabsorbed...painful.
