5-10-19 - Tully - intestinal blockage needs surgery ASAP
One of our foster's furbabies needs help ASAP. The cat, a previous one of our rescues who became a foster fail, Tullie got herself into serious medical trouble. The poor kitty ingested something that has wrapped itself around within her intestines. It has caused her to be unable to eat and resulted in dramatic weight loss to the point where in the last two days she has lost a pound, going from 4 at the time of her last visit to 3 today. The Vet says her intestines look like an accordion and without immediate corrective surgery, little Tullie will not make it. HOME Rescue is a 501c3
Tully's mom makes decals and is using them to help raise funds also. She will send them to your home address at no extra cost in exchange for your donation towards Tullies medical costs. All decals are priced in picture. You can place your order through PayPal. In the notes section state which decal and address. Thank you in advance. Go here: https://www.facebook.com/HOMERescueDFW/

5-10-19 BamBam suspected poisoning on family dog
Friends Of Cal City Animals❗️MEDICAL EMERGENCY❗️
We’re sorry for the upsetting video, but this boy, Bam Bam, needs medical help RIGHT NOW. He has arrrived at Pets R Us in Palmdale and he has been taken in the back where they are trying to bring his extremely high temp down and have given him anti-seizure meds. Post from W: Yesterday I tried to help a couple of dogs. Sadly they were so bad off they needed to be humanely euthanized. Bam Bam is their housemate, and he just started seizing like they were. I am rushing him to the vet right now. I have NO FUNDS, I am begging you to help me help his family! I believe these dogs are being poisoned.
Pets R Us will take up to $100 over the phone: 661-272-1600. Please let them know for Bam Bam under Wendy Nelson’s acct. Alternately donations can be sent to PayPal: friendsofcalcityanimalshelter@gmail.com

5-14-15 Cat Hoarding case
The Cat Shack rescue was recently involved with helping a group of 12 cats which had been abandoned in deplorable conditions. It was one of the worse environments that I’ve personally seen/smelled in 22 years of involvement with cat rescue. There were 6 cats inside the abandoned home locked inside one tiny room with no ventilation, food or water living in filth and piles of feces. There were also appropriately 6 underweight, lice-infested sickly cats outside. All of the cats, thankfully, were noticed by a neighbor and have been safely removed. This is where we need your help: The Cat Shack rescue took on 3 of the bonded orange and white brother cats, 2 of which have tested FIV+, all were treated for lice and hair loss, anemia and all 3 show signs of various medical issues. Once the cats put on weight and gain strength, all 3 will need dental surgery, 1 needs a cardiac workup for a significant heart murmur and another will need additional medical work to determine the cause of his very poor body condition compared to his brothers. The GOOD news is that the cats are sweet, eating well and seem very happy to be rescued. Our volunteers don’t mind climbing through windows and wading through filth to help cats so you don’t have to, but we could sure use your help raising funds for these special types of situations! Because the Cat Shack Volunteers have historically been drawn to those cats who we know are most in need (Wendi Miller, Jake Fotopoulos), our current balance at our main veterinarian office is over $10,000, we have another pending bill for a recent emergency visit for a foster with a surprise seizure disorder so these new boys are stretching our resources. Don’t even ask if kitten season has started (it has). If you can help with a charitable donation, it will be greatly appreciated- if you can not help financially, we still very much appreciate your thoughts and *shares*! Thank you for all your past and future support.
I’d like to include a shoutout to our local rescue community. 💕. Because the cats were abandoned inside and outside of an abandoned bank-owned property, the rescue turned into a collaborative effort between Cat Shack Volunteer Susan Schuler , the bank/lawyer and the local humane officer in order to secure permission to rescue the animals. All parties involved worked together for the sake of these cats and assured that they were safely removed and ended up in rescues like The Cat Shack and the Sanctuary. Cat Shack is a 501c3

He is facing mutltiple surgeries as well. ⭐️Bob Marley - has fractured hips and luxating patellas and is facing double surgery as well 😩💔 They are all in need of donations.

5-19-19 - Neighbor needing help with cats
I discovered a very bad situation at my neighbors house yesterday. She has 4 cats, 2 males and 2 females. She told me the males were neutered but females were not. They are 2 and 4 years old. (the females). They are all so skinny!!!!!!!! I was so upset. I went out and bought a bunch of food. and brought it back. I also noticed terrible diarrhea in the litter boxes so I got new ones and new litter too. This woman is handicapped, doesn't drive and I am assuming she cannot afford food. I did see some some canned food there though, so I am not sure if she is just trying to make it stretch. The 2 females are so tiny, not only skinny but so small, like she didn't feed them properly when they were babies. I really want to get the females spayed before they get pyometra or breast cancer and then get the other 2 boys in to be seen. The older boys are very very skinny and their fur is so bad. I figure once I get them vetted/spayed/stocked up on food then they should be good to go. I will keep an eye on them and if they do not gain weight, I think I will have to call someone. I can't be positive they are skinny from her not being able to afford food or from her just not feeding them. But I want to give her the benefit of the doubt first.

5-21-19 Pickle - kitten with ruptured eye
Today I'm getting in touch with a little guy found in a really bad way. He really needs vet help and I'm desperate to raise funds to help him. I'm not in the best position to help financially right now being laid off from work back in October and I was hoping I may apply to get him some help to see the vet. I believe the eye has already ruptured and I would like to be able to try to get him into the vet tomorrow. I have to make calls to find out where I can get him in first thing in the morning, but won't know the vets name or information until then. Please let me know any other information needed to apply. Thank you so very much!! I appreciate all you do! I named him Pickle.

5-28-19 - Community Cat caught in leg hold trap
She was in a colony and has been caught in a hunters snare trap. (Wanna-Be Pet Rescue is a 501c3). As everyone knows , we are trying to facilitate a move for our organization. So we have been taking in minimal animals and maintaining the ones we have for adoption. However, I find myself presented with this precious girl who now is in desperate need of help. Of course she is going to be a large bill and all others are plowed under with kitten season. So that being said I do not feel we can say no. She will be up for adoption when healed. Please, give what you can this will be approximately six hundred dollars. From what we know , her leg has been caught in a trap. Please share even if you can not give.

I got a request to help this poor cat who is urinating pure blood. The owner is on a fixed income and cannot afford to get her
to a vet. I called in a payment to the vet so she could be seen immediately. She has a very very bad bladder infection but it should resolve with anti biotics. (I have no photo of the cat).
