11-1-15 Eliot - severe stomatitis (October kitty we helped again)Elliott is a young polydactyl kitty who showed up so hungry...and not able to eat, his mouth is full of infected teeth. Despite this incredible pain (most likely stomatitis) he's a cuddle bug full of so much love. It's evident that he has had a rough street life and deserves help and kind human intervention. All funds will go to having him fully vetted, sweet Elliott will be adopted out once he's well. Thank you to everyone who is donating to help poor little Elliott! He is even worse today than yesterday he cannot eat at all and is fading quickly. He has an appointment tomorrow morning with the vet thank God!

11-1-15 Hoarder house in Iowa(October case we are helping again)
Got a call about this a week or so ago and after some calling, planning, checking etc. we had it set up with the tenant of this house to go and assess the situation today. Once i got there and saw how bad it was no way was i leaving without getting inside and helping those i could. Long story short, she didn't show and we ended up calling the Sheriff's Dept. After their involvement, multiple calls and texts she finally agreed that we could go in and get pics and start removing cats. We waited 2 1/2 hours to get in and then spent another hour or so rounding up cats. I have seen and smelled some pretty bad stuff in this line of work but this one is definitely one of the worst. Not sure what happens that people allow a situation to get this bad? People can live however they choose but these poor animals didn't choose to live like this. You can smell it before you even get close. The air was thick with ammonia and flies. The floor is covered in layers of feces, filth and garbage. The walls are covered in brown slime and everywhere you look there are cats. Big ones, little ones, both the live and and the dead left to rot where they fell. The heartbreak and sadness permeates your entire being and cannot be washed away as easily as the stench from your clothes. Together, Denise and i pulled 8 out today. We took those who looked like they needed help the most and we were able to easily catch. That is all we can house and care for on our own. The plan is to vet and hopefully find placement for these and then go back for more. Donations, homes, rescues and help are desperately needed for the remaining cats. Not sure how many but at least 15 and probably more. Some will need trapped. I am tired......but at least 8 cats can breathe fresh air tonight and sleep in clean beds. 11-5-15 Kittens rescued by our own Patty GentryI rescued this young Mother and her 5 small kittens from a nearby woods on September 10th, 2015. They would have probably died in the woods by other animals. By December they will be 2 months old and ready for their first shots and their spay and neutering. The cost is $200 per kitten and I need help from generous animals lovers, like yourself, to help me cover their costs. These are precious little kittens and they will have a wonderful home with me. 11-1-15 (Theresa Brooks) Need help with several rescue animalsOn September 23rd we Adopted a kitten named Smokie who was abandoned at a shelter by family because his owner had passed away. On the same day I found a puppy lost at a gas station off of the highway. I did not want to leave him to be killed or starve. we took him straight to the vet got a shot, flea meds, wormer. He was ate up with hook worm and fleas, dehydrated. Puppy I named Luckie is doing good now, but needs neutered and shots. I tried to find him a home. I am also fostering two kittens from another shelter. The kitties have been sick with a resperatory infection and are getting better. My Smokie has become very ill, and we are not sure why. He just spent 2 nights at vet on IV for dehydration, and is drooling excessively. Lukemia test was neg, they have tested for FIP which takes 7-10 days or so for result, They do not know why the drooling. I need to have an x ray to see if he swallowed some thing. Luckie puppy neutered and shots will end up costing over 200$. Its 125 for the neuter alone. Smokie' s bill yesterday was 279$ I have until the 3rd to pay Smokies bill. an X Ray for Smokie to find out why he cant stop drooling will be 100$. I need to raise 400$ for Smokie, 200+ for Luckie.

11-2-15 Kitty needs lots of medical help (SCOOP)This summer SCOOP, Inc. helped Jasmine and her two sick kittens, Donald and Daisy--the only survivors in that litter. Unbeknownst to everyone, including the vets, she was pregnant again and delivered seven more kittens on July 17th. After it was discovered that Jasmine and one of her kittens were dangerously ill due to anemia caused by Bartonella, a long treatment plan began for all ten. Jasmine and all of her babies recovered! Jasmine was abandoned by her family and lived in a cemetery for a few years--having many litters who would all be killed one by one. Jasmine was delawed, but had not been spayed. Before she was brought to SCOOP, she was destined to suffer. Neglect took a toll on this 4 year old's teeth and she's in need of dental surgery including extractions, along with blood work, various tests, and a spay as soon as possible. SCOOP volunteers worked tirelessly all summer raising money, but funds are depleted due to the care of so many sick kittens this summer.

11-24-15 Egyptian cats need vaccinesUrgent vaccines needed!!!! Our cats have been falling ill, endlessly medicating cats with supressed immunity and constant isolation. We need to vaccinate the healthy cats asap before they get sick too. We have just lost a beautiful kitten named Elf who was happy on the roof all summer and got suddenly sick as soon as weather changed and bec he is semi feral he died, his sister is now infected and not eating and she has ulcerated mouth. We r very worried about the others who live with her. We need to get as many cats vaccinated esp the tiny baby kittens who have no immunity.. over the summer we lost kittens to viruses, kittens vaccines and safe vaccines r not available in Egypt. My dear friend Laura B. is donating 2 batches of vaccines for my cats 50 doses that will save me a fortune of money as they would have costed me here at least $700 or $800 to vacciante just 25 cats!! my friend saved the day, she helped rehome some of my cats and she knows how much i am struggling. we need to raise the costs of the shipping through a secure shipping company as they have to be shipped on ice. Please help my fur babies before they all get sick. We terribly need vaccines please.

11-27-15 Walker Paralyzed Cat Myranda found Walker dragging his rear legs through a Walmart parking lot last week. She realized this cat was in serious need of help and was able to capture him, even though he was really fast with his front legs.
Walker has a strong will to live, bright eyes, a shiny coat of fur, and eats like a horse. He does urinate and move his bowels, but we aren’t sure yet if it’s because he can do it on his own, or if it’s “overflow”. But first, we need to heal his VERY large gaping wound on his back. When the vet assessed him, he had maggots crawling around the dead tissue. There is a huge infection and this was the first priority. Walker was sedated and his wound was cleaned. But now he must be hospitalized for a couple of days, while he receives intensify laser therapy, bandage changing, and wound cleaning. The good news is that while he was sedated, he received xrays to see the damage to his bone structure. There were no broken bones, so while he will never be able to move his hind legs, at least he doesn’t have to worry about them healing in a painful manner.
Walker does have a spinal cord injury and will forever be a paraplegic kitty. But after we’ve healed his wound, we can fit him for a wheelchair and his new, happy life will come rolling in! Right now we are trying to raise $1400 for this community cat. Please help Myranda to care for this kitty who just needs a little care before he can see his true potential.

11-29-15 Rescue CatsThis beautiful girl and her baby were taken to an animal emergency hospital last night after someone found them. Unfortunately, this hospital is unable to keep stray animals. So, this poor mom and her kitten will be going to a high-kill shelter here in Memphis, TN. We would love to be able to get them into our rescue before they are subjected to such a place. And if the shelter is full, they will be euthanized before being given a chance at adoption. Mom kitty is beautiful and seems to be very young herself. She is a very attentive momma to her one little baby who is very friendly, I am told. Other than two bite wound, abscesses on mom, she appears to be healthy as well as the kitten.For us to rescue them, we will need funding for momma kitty: cleaning of two wounds with possible antibiotic shot, FeLV/FVRCP and Rabies Vaccinations, deworm, FeLV/FIV testing and spay. For the kitten: FeLV, FVRCP with a booster, Deworm, FeLV/FIV testing and spay. We have a wonderful foster ready to take both of them if we are able to fund the two cuties. We just need your help and support to get them ready for adoption. We believe that these two little souls deserve a chance at a future with a loving home and not death at the shelter.
