11-02-24 Jax - Stray found with a tear on it's tail

hello, I'm messaging you in regards to year old stray who has a inch to inch and a half long open wound on his hind quarter, down to his tail.. it is open down to where u can see the meat of the tail. he can walk but he walks slowly and keeps his rear low to the ground. his situation is posted on "we are the voices of the forgotten" his name is Jax.... when I saw him I there was no way I could just walk away ans let him fend for himself..please help him so he can get better and live the life he should have. thank you for ur time..

11-7-24 Rigby - cat cannot breath

Fur-Gotten Tails Animal Rescue EMERGENCY (yet another one 😔) 💔

Rigby is having a hard time breathing this morning and won’t eat. Last visit, he had a potential asthma diagnosis and had a round of steroids. We’ve given him a steroid pill now but that likely won’t work quick enough. He needs to go to the ER for oxygen and get chest xrays asap. He was one of our very sick baby kittens from last year that we’ve never been able to get fully healthy.

We DO NOT have funds for the ER… We have $141 in our bank account and won’t be able to run a slight balance like we can with our regular vet. We need to raise at least $500 immediately to take him. Please help and share! 😿

11-12-24 Everest - very sick mama cat

This momma is not good at all. She has suspected mastitis. And has stopped feeding her kittens. She needs vet TODAY!!!!!! BUT we need to raise the funds to get her there. If not, she will not survive.We have found a very temporary foster for the kittens. They hvnt been fed since yesterday. Our intake is closed but how do I let her kittens lay there and starve to death and momma lay there and die from infection??? She also is having vaginal discharge. She hears her hungry babies crying but can't help them because she is barely moving and in so much pain. . Just so sad!!!! Time is urgent. Momma is in great pain. For the love of God please spay and neuter!!!!! NEW UPDATE Everest is VERY sick. Very dehydrated and has a fever of 105. She is being hospitalized to get her stable. On IV fluids, antibiotics, etc. They will reevaluate her in the morning to see if she is stable enough to have surgery. Please pray. As of now, Estimate is approx $2000 but that could change depending on many things. NEW UPDATE 
looking a little better today. Still has fever but it has came down from 105 to 103. Two vets looks at ultrasound and state they do not see any pyometra and they think the sickness is from the SEVERE mastitis. She will stay the course at the vets and will re evaluate

11-13-24 KMR needed for kittens

Hello I am writing to see if anybody has any open unneeded kmr for kittens I have been going through so many containers , and I know many people often buy some they can't use and switch two other brands so I just wanted to check. Also I feed TNR cats often and two of the people who feed the cats on a regular basis and live by them have had a couple litters of kittens from cats that were recently dumped that weren't fixed yet so I've been trying to help them get milk also so it's been very hard because I also rescue and Foster.. the mother to the one litter disappeared the other litter is she was too malnourished to provide enough milk. I did reach out to the humane society but they do not have any KMR on hand currently. I had more kittens this summer than I've ever fostered so it's been very rough I had to buy a lot of medications, food and some are old enough now that they are getting shots and fixed and it's all coming out of my pocket so I'm just trying to see if I can get any help with kmr if anybody has any they don't need let me know thank you so much . Also the one litter we have they were not doing well when we got them they're doing great now but they will not fully wean yet from kmr and they are 8 weeks old this is the longest it's ever taken for me to wean kittens. 🙏 Thanks so much.

11-14-24 Bruiser - very ill kitty

Hi I am a member of PHL Kat community group and a member had given me the name of your website I am currently trying to raise enough money for my 11-year-old cat to be seen for an emergency visit that’s going to cost $200 just to walk in the door. Yet another colony in need of help. A young college gal came upon a colony of cats, mostly friendly who were begging for food. She has no idea where they came from but it is right by her apartment. She said lots had ear notches and I am going to try to hook her up with a tnr group to make sure they are all altered. She put out some food and they all went nuts over it, but she cannot keep buying food being a student. I said we could help.

11-26-24  Several senior feeders need food  (THREE)

Pittsburgh Hill District Cats: We are constantly sharing the stories of homeless cats and their needs, but sometimes we forget to highlight the efforts of the caretakers who make it all possible. In neighborhoods like the Hill District, Oakland, and Homestead, we know several senior caretakers who spend a large amount of their social security income just to feed the feral cats they care for. While we always do our best to support them, we know their hard work often goes unnoticed. Many of their neighbors fight with them about feeding the cats and give them grief. 😭 We have many stories of hostile neighbors yelling at them or at us.This week, we want to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate them for all they do. If you'd like to show your support, please consider sending a thank-you card or a small gift card.
