10-01-24 Cat help needed

The first two are newbies from one of Barbara Carney’s Newark colonies. As you can see the second one opened up some scabs that were on his nose after he was trapped (pic of the scabs on his ears also).The other eight are also newbies, from another one of her colonies. She believes that somebody is dumping cats at some of her colonies due to the large sudden influx of new cats 😔. Barbara is a very conscientious caretaker, always making sure the population stays under control by TNRing any new ones but what’s happening lately has gotten out of control as you can see. And there are still more new ones that need to be trapped. Barbara and I decided to get a good amount of them over with today, and we were lucky we got this many with the rain we had on an off all day. We were also lucky that we were able to get this many in a 2 1/2 hour timeframe. As you can see in the fourth pic, the brown tabby is sick 😔. He showed up recently already ear tipped and Barbara isn’t the one who had originally trapped him. The video also shows that he’s missing half his tail 😔. The tux in the 7th pic seems to have a missing or recessed eye. Help is desperately needed.

10-01-24 Peanut - very ill kitten

Peanutz & I need you. July was another very tough month in what was an already difficult year. I had already endured another massive 2nd neck surgery, the deaths of our old man kitties tater tot & Clyde. July we lost old man kitty Tubby & I had another stroke. There was a bright light in July though I adopted my foster baby Peanutz... whom I had fallen madly in love with. A deep hole in my heart had been filled and my sadness was starting to finally lift! Sadly Peanutz is ill. He is four months old & still just weighs 2 pounds 11 ounces. Unfortunately this is the weight of an eight week old kitten. My vet did lots of tests this week and still no real answers. She has referred us else where to seek help. Our appointment is on Tuesday at 1pm. I'm living on disability income because of permanent health issues from my neck. I love Peanutz so I'm swallowing my pride and asking you all for some help financially to cover upcoming vet fees. Any little bit will help. Please from the bottom of my heart if you can spare anything to help me cover Peanutz testing (xrays & additional blood work) & I'm guessing more potential treatments.

10-05-24 Cat food needed

There is a man who feeds about 30 cats under the coplay bridge and on 3rd st in coplay theres another 60 cats there he feeds , and he also does tnr at these places ,all on his social sec money every month, and hes in his 60s. He can use some help with trapping .There are a ton that need to be fixed or if u would like to donate anything to his efforts plz message me and i can get u in contact with him . All but about 2 are fixed under the bridge but 3rd street needs alot of help he said !. And the kittys under the bridge could use some food during the day if anyone wants to help feed during the day theres a feeder container and its usually empty whenever i go, i get there once in awhile in the afternoon to put food out but not much because of my work schedule right now .I know he feeds around 7-8p. But wud be nice if they always had food during the day too. Especially with winter coming so they don't have to sit around waiting for food in the cold all day it be nice if it would be accessible most of the time . Also if your buying any dry food can u plz stick with friskies or anything better thx even ferals will let food go to waste if they dont like it. And mike wont let it set there if theyre not eating it in a day . And plz don't leave any paper bowls or plates behind so people don't complain about thrash .

10-8-24 Luna - dog with pyometra

Good morning. Our dog Luna has an infection in her ovaries. The vet is telling us without a hysterectomy she doesn't have very long. She's a support pet for my self, as I suffer from PTSD from my time in the military and am a disabled vet. I have come to learn the original information about not getting a "service dog spade" originally, like I now wish I had, was a bunch of crap. All it has done is now put her life in danger. I mistake I will never make again. We have no other pets and any future pets will be immediately spade and neutered in this house or future generations of this families home, thats how importanti see it to be now. I have reached out as far and wide as I am able, friends, family and anyone I am able to reach. Any help is beyond appreciated. I credit Luna for saving my life, she helped pull me from a dark place years ago, now I must repay that favor anyway I have to. I need to speak with her vet again tomorrow but her situation has started to decline again today and im growing more concerned each passing minute. Thank you for ur time regardless. What you do for animals is wonderful.

10-14-24 Need totes for cat houses

I have a few caretakers who feed cats in areas where fancy shelters will get stolen. While shelter making is one of my least favorite things to do, I do have 3 or 4 caretakers in need. The best price on totes is typically Target. Right now they have them for $10. Sometimes Family Dollar will carry them as well. I like this particular style because the latches on the handles prevent the lid from getting blown away on windy days.

10-17-245 Kennels needed - Troy Animal Rescue Project

Warning : Graphic : This morning, our rescue director drove up on a pitiful scene. One female dog deceased with a male dog curled up to her trying to keep her warm. It was absolutely heartbreaking. But our director got out and coaxed the male dog to her before bringing him home. At this point, we have no one empty kennel for large breed dogs. And this scene will become all too familiar as our kennels stay full. With no place to take them, many large dogs will be dumped or taken to shelters where they will be euthanized. We need some help for this boy - and we want to do more.We need at least one kennel for this boy. We literally have no where to put him and he unfortunately can’t stay in our directors backyard, as she currently has a dog aggressive foster dog she is working with. Returning her current foster, Chance, back to the kennels would back track on all of her work that she has done so it’s not an option.We would also like to humbly ask for more kennel sponsors than just the one kennel. It seems like every other day, there is an urgent dog in need that we don’t have space for. We would like to purchase an additional 10 kennels to expand our current kennels to take more dogs in need. Our rescue has also already had frantic calls from hurricane victims needing places for their pets, as they don’t have a home to go back too. And we know we will have many more coming for evacuees in this area. We need the space desperately to help dogs in need.
Each kennels sponsor is $400. We don’t want to see any more dogs in this horrible situation. Please help us to make this happen.

10-24-24 Freemansburg Cats - hoarding & put outside

UPDATE: this is in regards to the previous posts about the 15 cats which we have named the "Forgotten Freemansburg Cat Mission"🐾 PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THE PROPERTY 🐾
I went today to access the situation and feed these poor souls. Most were accounted for but extremely scared and some hiding. Some looked in good health, others were not so much. The house is deplorable and I'm shocked anyone lived there, I would not let a fly live in that filth. So moving forward, I will be trapping them and working with a shelter who will be adopting them out as long as they are able to be handled and can live a healthy life inside. I believe some were not house cats by the way they were kept. I ask for the safety of these cats, NO ONE goes and tries to trap them. We have a strategy in place and I need them to gain my trust so having people tramp around the yard is no help to these cats. But I do need everyone's help with intake fees. It cost $65 per cat to be vetted and taken in, so for anyone that is willing to donate that cost , would be greatly appreciated. I will post a link in the next few days for a donation that can be directly made to the shelter via CC, venmo, cash or check.
As my blood boils, I will leave my comments to myself about the lady who did this because it shocks me still to this day after 20 some yrs of rescue that people can still be this heartless. This act was disgusting and inhumane. No there was no food left or water bowls or even a reach out to all the shelters for help as she claimed. Many knew nothing of the situation or was contacted for help which makes this situation even worse. But seeing how this person lived, they did not give a crap about these cats.I will be working with the PD in the future and state organizations to bring charges to this matter. Most are very skinny and inhale the food when I put it down. Obviously they are dirty and covered in fleas. One has a shaved side as it may have had surgery not to long ago. They do stay in the backyard and are safe for now. I have gone through cases of food already as 15 hungry mouths to feed gets to be a lot. So if anyone is willing to donate hard food(9 lives, meow mix or any brand) and cases of soft food (9lives, friskies) any store brand is fine, they are not picky eaters, it would be appreciated

**I hope they know I'm there to help😿 I try to have a tough skin when it comes to rescue but today I wept on this property, our "Forgotten Freemansburg Cats" . Why??? Well the property went up for sale, so it's crunch time. I got to look inside, I did not come close to stepping inside, it is deplorable. I stood about 5ft from the door and the stench was unbearable. You need hazmat suits to enter, it is awful. How anyone could live like that or an animal is beyond me. So for that I'm glad the cats are breathing in the fresh air outside and not living in that filth . But what breaks my heart...as the cats saw people walking inside the house, they immediately ran to the door, scratched at it, stared inside and meowed wanting to go in. They are probably wondering why they can't go back inside 💔 I was crushed, the tears ran down my face...how do I explain it to them, you can't. All I can do is show them that they will have a better life and never again be thrown out like trash.**

10-24-24 Abbey sick stray cat

So this old soul showed up at one of our Community cat colonies in East Toledo, it is a female and it does have an ear tip so it has been spayed and also has a white flea collar. she's in really bad shape he's a skeleton as chronic diarrhea she really needs help. We would like to take him to a vet and have them looked at for just a walk in the door to vet clinic now is almost $75 and then from there they would want to do blood work which usually runs another $150 and then from there if there's anything they can do treatment or if he has to be euthanized that's additional as well so we're looking at probably 400 to $500 after all the sudden done We would like to try to raise the funds but if we can't he'll just have to continue to try to thrive outside the way he is he is trying to eat he has an appetite to a point but then he stops eating Donation and amount is greatly appreciated no donation is ever too small donations can be made via any platform below thank you again for your continued support and compassion

10-30-24 Cat food help needed

PLEASE IF YOU CAN HELP AS VERA HAS NO FOOD FOR THE CATS AND HAS NO MONEY TO BUY SHE ALREADY SPEND ALL THE MONEY SHE HAD. If anyone has any food that they don’t need please let us know we will pick it up. Please help if you can please help as there is no food left to feed stray cats. Vera Tymkiv, a 70-year-old woman who has dedicated herself to caring for 65 stray cats. She needs help with food, as her SSI funds are limited.
