9-12-22 Lenny - burned kitty
Fishtails Animal Rescue is asking for donations. Thank you all for your positive thoughts and donations for Lenny, he made it through the night! Lenny suffers from new and old burns on his body and maggots within the open wounds. He was released from the ER yesterday afternoon but rushed back by evening, as he couldn’t stabilize his blood pressure or body temperature. Last night his blood pressure stabilized after receiving a plasma transfusion and his temperature is now stable. The next major challenge is that he is not eating and his red blood cells are low (he is anemic). Today he is going to have a red blood cell transfusion and have a feeding tube placed. The good news so far is his xrays of his chest and abdomen show no obvious damage. Despite it all he just wants love and is doing his best to raise funds himself by baking all the biscuits. His fight is far from over. Lenny’s estimate right now is $6,000. We need everyone’s help so we can pay for Lenny’s life saving care. Lenny suffered horrific injuries and was one of the lucky ones to be found and saved. He will only know love and safety for the rest of his life.

9-12-22 Marcel - very sick puppy
We live in Nashville, TN and last weekend, we woke up our dogs to go outside and found Marcel, the smallest and youngest of the three, laying almost unresponsive comatose in his bed. We rushed him to an Animal Care Center of Panama City Beach which was right down the road. They saved his life, for sure, though they told us nothing about what was really going on internally and gave us no real direction other than how to transport him home 7 hours. After Marcel spent the night in their care, we brought him home to Nashville on Wednesday, Sept 7th. We nursed him back to eating on his own, which he did for all of Friday and some of Saturday. On Saturday sometime he lost his appetite again and we fed him nutrient gel and chicken broth via syringe. None of that took. We woke up last night, Sunday into Monday morning, and found him in the same comatose unresponsive state. We rushed him to Nashville Veterinary Specialists and they took him in and are stabilizing him as we converse. Marcel has a lotta spunk and a certain flair for life. We cannot give up on him.

9-16-22 Billy - doggie needs lots of help
I'm raising money for Sherrys Place Rescue, to assist with Billy the Yorkie’s hospital stay. I've included information about Billy below. After further x-rays, they found that Billy has had trauma to his chest, and now has pulmonary bruising and difficulty breathing, so they have placed him on oxygen. He will need to stay at the animal hospital in Mount Laurel until at least Monday, at which point they hope he will be ready for his surgery. Our new estimate for his care is $14,700.
They can surgically repair his leg, or can amputate, which is less expensive. We are going with the surgery. He also needs to be catheterized to check that he is able to urinate through his broken penis. ( Yep, you read that right). Dogs have a small bone there. He has a broken femur, the broken penis, and they need to check for bruising on his lungs. He needs to spend time here in the hospital to control his pain, and wait for his surgeries. Someone hurt this tiny dog. We are going to do everything we can to make it up to him. This is Billy. Billy was brought in by Animal Control to SJRAS. We brought him here to Sherry’s Place Rescue. We would like your good thoughts and prayers for Billy. He has a broken leg, and a broken penis, not fractured, but fully broken, from trauma, from an unknown trauma injury. He is un-neutered. He is in tremendous pain, yet he is being sweet, and reaching out for petting. We are taking him to urgent emergency care in the morning, at MT Laurel animal hospital, to see whether surgery is possible, and if his injuries are fixable. I don’t even want to think about who or what caused these terrible injuries. Please keep him in your prayers, and watch for updates, because if he needs the surgeries we believe he will, we probably will be asking you to assist with a fundraiser. We are so happy he’s here and safe. He is so sweet, it hurts my heart to see him in such pain❤️🩹

9-19-22 Adele - burned dog
Her full name is Adele, she is six to eight months old. Found in deep southern texas. Turns out that this is human caused and worse intentional! I’m sorry for the pictures but she is critical , and we need help. The vet that we have her at is great. They have and are trying to help hold costs down but the condition of her young body require intensive care and hospitalization. I on my knees begging. Each Monday the vet requires a zero account. So although every bit helps and we did get some donations which are appreciated, we really are crying for help. Just a sweet six to seven month old puppy. Staff is raving about how sweet she is. She receives five hydro baths a day. Her risk of infection remains high. Due to that she is in a separate room called hospitalization. Each Monday here vet bill needs to be brought to zero.

9-24-22 Cat supplies needed
Someone from a small but mighty rescue asked for help with a vet bill and unfortunately before I got back to them, the bill had to be paid in full. But they are also very low on food and litter so I am sending some to them to replace the funds I couldn't send to the vet. This is a great group who does great things. They loaded me up with food for our 50+ colony when they got a windfall and they also took a kitten from me that I had TNR'd and needed a home. They never say no to me so I cannot say no to them. So any other help we can gather would be very appreciated!! The group she works with is Animal Care Associates Scranton, PA. The more we can raise the more we can send.

9-28-22 Socks - kitten kicked
Update on our baby, Socks. For those new to the posts, Socks, a tiny 6wk old kitten, was being kicked around like a soccer ball by some school age children. He has herniation of his abdominal organs due to a prepubic tendon rupture as seen in xray. Good news. Bad news. Good news is they are prepping our sweet boy for surgery now! Bad news is due to the extreme delicacy of this surgery, the estimated cost is way more than we imagined! The low end is estimated at $5500 and the high end is $8800. Yikes!! We have currently raised about $3000 of which we are so very grateful! Some may wonder why the rescue chooses to spend so much money on ONE kitten?? Couldn't that money be used to save so many others?? Well, yes. Yes, it could. However, the reality is Socks came to our rescue because he needed our help. He needed someone to be his voice and we will do just that!
We will commit our time and efforts to raise the extra necessary funds to help Socks! We will ask our supporters to SHARE his story. We will give Socks the love and life he deserves. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated, shared and prayed for this very special kitten! Now it's time to heal our boy!
